Privacy notice

We are a family-run holiday house, and we keep your personal information to the minimum we need.

What we collect

Your name, email address, phone number, the dates you want, how many people are coming, how you heard about us, and anything you write in your message. We also record when you accepted our booking terms. We don't ask for or keep ID numbers or card details.

Why we use it

We use it to reply to your enquiry, manage your booking, contact you about your stay, and keep the records the law requires. We don't use it for marketing and we never sell it.

Who else sees it

Only us, and the services that run our website and email, which store the information on our behalf. When your dates are booked, we tell the other sites where the house is listed, such as LekkeSlaap, that those dates are taken. We never share your name or contact details with them.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become bookings are deleted after 12 months. Booking records, including cancelled bookings, are kept for 5 years after the stay for tax and accounting purposes, then deleted. This happens automatically.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we don't need to keep it by law. Email privacy@knot4sail.co.za or call 082 569 7334. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
