1About these terms

These terms apply when you book Knot 4 Sail, 126 Walker Drive, Buffels Bay, directly with the owners ("we"). They don't apply to bookings made through LekkeSlaap or another platform, which fall under that platform's terms.

By ticking the box on our enquiry form, or by paying the deposit, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and our house rules on behalf of everyone in your group.

2How a booking is made

• An enquiry does not reserve the dates. Anyone else can still book them until your booking is confirmed.
• Once we've confirmed that the dates are free, we send you a quote with the total price.
• Your booking is confirmed when we have received your deposit and confirmed the booking to you in writing (WhatsApp or email is fine).
• The person who books must be at least 25 years old, must stay at the house for the whole booking, and is responsible for everyone in the group.

3Prices and payment

• Prices are for the whole house, per night, in South African rand. Out-of-season prices are lower than peak-season prices; your quote shows the price for your dates.
• A deposit of 50% of the total is due within 2 days of our quote. If it hasn't arrived by then, we may release the dates.
• The balance is due 2 weeks before you arrive. For bookings made less than 2 weeks before arrival, the full amount is due to confirm.
• Payment is by EFT to the bank account on your quote. Please use the reference we give you. We will never change our bank details by message. If you get a message saying our account has changed, phone us on 082 569 7334 before paying.

4Who can stay

• The house sleeps a maximum of 6 adults and 3 children under 12. This is a firm limit, not a guide.
• Only the guests named in the booking may stay overnight. Visitors are welcome during the day.
• If more people stay overnight than were booked, or more than the maximum, we may ask the extra guests to leave or end the stay, with no refund.

5Arriving and leaving

• Check-in is between 14:00 and 19:00, and check-out is by 10:00. Please let us know if you'll arrive outside those times. We send you the details for the keys before you arrive.
• There are stairs at the entrance to the house. Please let us know before you book if anyone in your group may find them difficult.
• Cleaning is not included: guests do a basic clean before they leave. Please don't leave dirty dishes. The house rules say what's expected.

6If you cancel or change your booking

Please tell us in writing as soon as you know. How much of your deposit we refund depends on how much notice you give:

• More than 1 month before check-in: 50% of the deposit is refunded.
• More than 2 weeks before check-in: 25% of the deposit is refunded.
• Less than 2 weeks before check-in, or if you don't arrive: the deposit is not refunded.

Anything you have paid on top of the deposit is refunded in full. To change your dates, ask us: we'll move the booking if the new dates are free, and any difference in price will apply. We strongly recommend travel insurance.

7If we have to cancel

If we have to cancel your booking for any reason, we will refund everything you have paid us in full. Beyond that refund, we are not responsible for other costs, such as travel, unless the law says otherwise.

8The house and services

• Wi-Fi is prepaid. Each booking includes 5 GB. If you need more, you can buy prepaid data through the router using the details provided in the house. Wi-Fi isn't guaranteed.
• Power, water and internet are supplied by others. We can't control outages or interruptions, and we don't give refunds for them. We'll help where we can.
• We may need to go into the house during your stay for urgent repairs. We will always try to arrange a time with you first.

9Looking after the house

• Please follow the house rules, which form part of these terms.
• You are responsible for damage caused by anyone in your group during your stay, beyond normal wear and tear, and we will claim the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing anything damaged or missing. Please tell us about breakages straight away; accidents happen, and it's much easier to sort out when we know.
• We may end a stay without refund if there is serious damage, behaviour that puts people or the house at risk, or a serious breach of the house rules. This includes too many people staying overnight, parties, or repeated complaints from neighbours.

11Problems during your stay

If something isn't right, tell us while you're there, by phone or WhatsApp on 082 569 7334, so we have the chance to fix it. We can't put right something we don't know about until after you've left.

13General

• We may update these terms from time to time. Your booking is governed by the version you accepted when you booked.
• These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
• Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under South African consumer law.
